We’ve tracked down four house plants that are true sleep super heroes. Not only do these four stars look great in all bedroom settings, unlike most house plants, they actually absorb waste carbon dioxide and pump out oxygen all night long.
To make the short list our four plants not only needed to enrich the sleeping environment even with the lights out, they had to feature in NASA’s research into the most effective air filtering plants.
These wondrous plants will filter common toxins and CO2 from your sleeping environment and enrich it with oxygen throughout the night. Providing you with a refreshing and revitalising night of sleep.
1. Areca Palm
Once an endangered species this attractive and well priced evergreen house plant will grow and grow to suit the size of your bedroom. Working away throughout the night it was found to be particularly effective at absorbing the toxins often found in carpets and insulation (formaldehyde).
2. Snake Plant
Also known as Mother in Laws Tongue this hardy, easily maintained house plant was found by NASA to be a high achiever when it came to filtering household toxins out of the air. Not only reducing formaldehyde (carpets) but also benzene (paints and solvents) and trichloroethylene (dry cleaning). Allowing you a relaxing sleep in purified, oxygen rich air.
3. Aloe Vera
The benefits of Aloe Vera, particularly to our skin are well documented. However this hardy plant will also absorb the most common household toxins and produce oxygen through the night. Giving us the undisturbed, revitalising and peaceful night’s sleep that we all need.
4. Moth Orchid
NASA found the Moth Orchid to be a particularly effective air filter of the more common toxic agents. Plus it grows well in centrally heated rooms and will look stunning all year round. Add to this its ability to cleanse the air all night long it’s the plant that keeps on giving, allowing you to keep on sleeping.
