Don't even bother with a coil-sprung mattress. Even the cheapest pocket sprung mattress is FAR superior. Once you've slept on pocket springs, you will never go back. This is the second one I've owned and it's like sleeping on a cloud. The first one I bought was very expensive, but lasted a very long time. This one is MUCH cheaper and feels virtually identical! With pocket springs, you don’t feel any springs, they’re super comfy yet supportive and suit couples perfectly because there is little-to-no ‘roll together’. 800 springs is absolutely fine. 1000 is also good, but more than that is possibly unnecessary (I think the more you have, the firmer they get – 800 is plenty firm enough). I would have preferred a wooden slat bass as opposed to a divan (for looks/space underneath etc), but divan is cheaper, and it does the trick fine. Besides, the mattress is the most important thing; the bass is merely a platform. You absolutely cannot get any better than this for the price, I tried! 10/10.
